17 Again

When Mike (Matthew Perry) was in high school he was popular, the basketball star, and had an amazing girlfriend. His life is on a great path until she gets pregnant and everything changes. Not happy with the way his life turned out Mike now in his 30's wishes he could go back and magically he falls into a river and comes out 17 again. Now he see if being young is as great as he remembered. When I started to watch this I expected it to be really corny, but found it to be funny and very entertaining. Efron did a pretty good job and is definitely growing up to be one of the next heartthrob's.

Fast & Furious

The original gang is back for this 4th Fast & Furious movie about the return of Dominic who has been hiding out in another country but returns to avenge the death of a beloved friend. He joins up with the old gang and a "fast and furious" adventure begins. I enjoy anything with Paul Walker in it so of course I liked it...throw in Vin Diesel and it is always a hit.

I Love You, Man

When Peter (Paul Rudd) pops the questions to his longtime girlfriend and she says yes they realize that while she has several friends to be in the wedding Peter really doesn't have any guy friends. His brother recommends he start going out on "man dates" to see if he can make some friends. This begins a serious of hilarious dates until one day he meets Sydney (Jason Segal) and he realizes he might have found his best man. I thought this movie was absolutely hilarious and Rudd and Segal were outstanding.

Obsessed

Everything in Derek's (Idris Elba) life is perfect, he has a new house, a great job, a wonderful wife and son, until one day he goes to work and meets the new temp (Ali Larter). She mistakes his friendliness for romantic interest and makes it her mission to "land" the boss. Predictable and definitely not Fatal Attraction, but I actually thought this was a decent movie. Beyonce Knowles did a good job as the wife and Larter was a good psycho girl.

Race to Witch Mountain

Dwayne Johnson plays Jack Bruno a bored cabby who has a couple of strange kids show up in his cab one morning that starts him on a journey of a lifetime. A race begins to see if he can get these aliens/children to their spaceship before the government or the bad buy get them. A mediocre movie, but kids will probably enjoy it.

Miss March

Long time high school sweethearts Eugene and Cindi are finally going to make love for the first time on prom night their senior year, but before they can make it happen Eugene falls down some stairs and goes into a coma that lasts 4 years. When he finally wakes up he has been abandoned by everyone except his eccentric best friend and Cindi is a Playboy centerfold. They begin a journey to find Cindi and find out why she left him when he needed her most. A raunchy comedy that is not for those easily offended.

Phoebe in Wonderland

An amazing but heart wrenching story about a very different young girl who is obsessed with the idea of Alice in Wonderland and her journey into the looking glass. When a new and odd drama teacher comes to her school and decides to do Alice in Wonderland as the school play Phoebe knows she is perfect to play Alice. Along the way you realize there is a lot more going on with Phoebe than originally meets the eye. This is an excellent movie and Fanning, Huffman, and Clarkson do a great job.

Watchmen

Set in the 1980's during a time where war between the U.S. and Soviet Union was heating up and a group of masked heroes had been forced to retire this comic book made into a movie focuses on a small group of the superhero retirees and their effort to help bring peace to the world. I enjoyed the movie and felt that Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) made the movie. If you like the comic you will probably like the movie.

Dakota Skye

Teen Dakota Skye has the ability to hear nothing but the truth when people talk to her. As she gets older she becomes more and more pessimistic towards life. When her boyfriends best friends comes to town and shows her that not everyone lies all the time her outlook begins to change. A very realistic movie about the lies and half truths people tell. I really enjoyed this movie.

Idiocracy

Do you ever wonder what would happen to the world if only the least intelligent people procreated? This movie tries to jokingly show what that world would look like. Luke Wilson stars in this comedy about a really backwards world where he wakes up one day and is the smartest man on the planet. A silly but oddly enjoyable movie, but it makes you think about whether something similar could be our future.

The Boy in the Stiped Pajamas

A heart wrenching tale about a young boy who moves to the "country" with his family and can see a strange "farm" in the distance. When he asks about the strange farm where everyone wears pajamas he is told not to go near there. When one day he goes against his parents' wishes and visits the farm he meets a boy on the other side of the fence and a friendship begins. This is an excellent but very sad movie about the concentration camps.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

Based on the characters in the popular Street Fighter video game this movie focuses on a young girl who turn to crime fighting after witness her fathers kidnapping. Years later she gets a mysterious note encouraging her to go to Bangkok to fulfill her destiny. If you like cheesy kung fu movies you might like this, but the acting left a lot to be desired.

12 Rounds

John Cena stars in this movie about a cop (Danny) who accidentally kills the girlfriend of a terrorist the FBI have been tracking. When the bad guy later escapes from prison he wants revenge, so he kidnaps Danny's girlfriend and insists he do various tasks if he wants her back alive. If you liked Cena in the Marine you will probably like this one.
